Professional boundaries
Site content and services are not legal, regulatory, audit, tax, accounting, investment, or financial advice. They do not replace qualified professionals in those disciplines and do not provide certification of compliance, security, performance, or business results.
Technology decisions
Any example, assessment topic, prioritization criterion, or implementation approach is general until evaluated against the specific business, people, process, data, budget, risk, and operating environment. A recommendation is made only within an agreed scope and based on the information reasonably available.
Higher-consequence environments
When technology operates in a regulated or higher-consequence environment, the organization should involve its own legal, risk, security, privacy, audit, financial, regulatory, and other specialists as appropriate. Accountability and evidence may be designed into a solution, but that work does not constitute an independent audit or legal opinion.
